Yesterday, I decided that I wanted to get back my creative mojo- and it seems to be a form of therapy for me- so I sat down, and finally downloaded a class that is in session right now. Lisa Day's "THe challenge of me". Often times, we scrapbookers don't include ourselves in pages- and tell our story, or who we are as a person. That's what this class is all about. I went through all of the subject prompts, and well, that lit a fire under my butt, and I felt inspired. It was quite funny...I couldn't get to things faster than I wanted to, because I was THAT excited about doing this project. I thought I would be pushing out some lay outs pretty quickly...and well, that didn't quite work out that way! LOL I think i would have if I didn't have to stop and search for photos, photo shop them, and print them out at home. Hmm...I think its time I got back to work on the Library of Memories (also a class and brain child of Stacy Julian)...and put that system to work! That's going to take ALOT of time, but in the end, it'll be so worth it, and staying organized won't be as time consuming than the beginning.
The last few weeks I have been really down. Not wanting to do much but sit around and watch tv or read...or I did alot of organizing, which is always a good thing LOL So, now, I am going to try to do more during the day. Get back into walking my dogs in the morning (maybe at night if it cools down enough- I know, I know- big baby!-esp with how the mild the weather has been lately), working out at least 5 days a week, and getting back to eating home cooked foods and Jenny Craig. I have been eating out alot, and having enough for left overs for the next day. I also would like to do something creative every day. I need to get a set schedule down for myself. With the fact that I work from home and no one to really to answer to, I have the flexibility to do that.
Oh, and I will get to those kits, I promise!!
Want a sneak peek in my project? Here are the couple of the lo's I did last night. I am excited to finally try out the trendy idea of putting all different size layouts in a 12x12 album. I think I'm going to do 12x12, 12x6, and 8x8. Maybe smaller...we'll see. This is going to be fun to add to this album, over the years, months, weeks, days, after this class is over. Isn't that cool? The fact that you can keep adding more things about yourself, your thoughts- good or bad-, and well, just tell your story, or how you see yourself, or what you strive to be. THis class couldn't have come at a better time for me. For the first time, I think, I am finding out who I am, what I want, what I need, and now, I'm just trying to figure out where I belong--for myself, not for anyone or every one else.
The first one, is the title page for the first section of "my life".
ISupplies used: Heidi Swapp polka dot mask, MM paint in Funky Vintage-Deep Sea, Stampin Up! 12x12 (cut in half) kraft ( i looove this paper!), AC thicker stickers for the scallop edge, and puffy heart, things i love tag is from MME, journal (red edge) paper is from MM, the cloud- a Etsy purchase from evalicious, Sei puffy alpha stickers (anyone know where I can find more of these itty bitty alphas? SO fab!), Jenni Bowlin alpha and MM. I love this picture of me. I did a shoot with my friend, and mentor a few years back, as a Xmas gift for my husband, I love how alot of these turned out :) Thanks again Robin!
This next LO, is a prompt for "Who is your Idol". I have alot of idols, and I am planning on adding more to this section down the road. I could have put a family member(s)- and I will later, but since we are covering family in later prompts, this one came to my mind first, esp now.
Journaling reads: "I admire President Barrack Obama & First lady, Michelle's marriage...fist bump and all :)" I might add more (hidden) journaling later telling why I admire them. I used the white space in the larger photograph to journal (Uni-ball Signo pen- they need to bring these back!!) The writing would have been better, I think, if I had this printed up at a lab, and not at home. There is definitely a difference.
Supplies used: Brown Bazzil cardstock (not sure what the color name is exactly), AC flair badge-Romance flair cany line. Pattern paper from the American Crafts line - Metropolitan. I cut out the cirlces to make a scalloped edge, and the flowers as well. The smaller flowers, I used pop up dots to make them pop off the page a bit. I am debating whether i want to add machine stitching to the scallops, and add gems in the middle of the flowers, or leave as is...
I am hoping to get this project/class "finished" by this weekend (this is a 4 week class! lOl). Of course, it will never be finished...I plan to make this a ongoing, and updated, as I add as time goes on. I think I will also be adding the new BPS class, that is coming in Sept, by Cathy Zielske, called Me: The Abridged Version -An A to Z All ABout Me". This class is also 4 weeks long- and she has a different style- clean lines and simple, so it will be nice to change it up. Here is the link to this class if you are interested.
Blog later :)
Ps- the photos of the Prez, were taken from the internet. NOT my work. I wish, but no.
